Coos Bay Boardwalk and
Interpretive Structures

Completed: 1994
New 1,200 foot long boardwalk with three pavilions housing interpretive displays. Conceptual design was by Joseph Esherick. The project is situated on the historic waterfront of this lumber port city, bounded by the bay on one side and coastal Highway 101 on the other. The post and beam structures of the pavilions are supported on a wood piling system over the bay. The buildings house various displays related to the history of the region as well as current attractions. It serves as a stopping point and education center for travelers passing along this scenic highway.
