Horseneck Beach State Reservation
Westport, MACompleted 2008
Peter Turowski, AIA while with Stephen Kelleher
Architects
Two new bathhouses and a new beach service building
for this popular beach along the southern shores of
Massachusetts. Horseneck Beach, one of Massachusetts
most popular beaches, receives over 12,000 visitors
a day in the height of the summer season. This
project was part of a comprehensive project to
upgrade all utilities and services at the site.
Designed to replace 50 year old structures which
were obsolete and decaying, the new structures are
designed in the shingle style, and feature natural
daylighting, natural ventilation, and composting
toilets.
